After a year of hard work, the decision has been made: as of the next school year, August 1, 2024, the new qualification file for analyst training will be introduced in about 16 ROCs. Relative to the existing educational program, this means an improvement and tightening of the following three qualifications: “all-round laboratory technician” (level 3), “biological medical analyst” (level 4) and “chemical-physical analyst” (level 4). MBO education for laboratory technology will therefore be “up to date” in the next 6 years.
The revision was made possible thanks to the “Process industry and laboratories” market segment of the public-private Partnership Organization for Vocational Education – Business (SBB). The market segment consists of representatives from 6 educational institutions from secondary vocational education and 6 professional field representatives from the process industry and laboratory world. ChemistryNL is co-chairman of this market segment, together with a representative of secondary vocational education.
