Major challenge: the chemical sector needs people to accelerate the climate transition

Many young people choose an office job, but we actually need people on the industrial floor. Certainly in view of the challenges we face. Think of the climate transition, sustainability and digitization.

Onno de Vreede, Coordinator Human Capital Agenda at ChemistryNL: “More than 800,000 Dutch people earn their income in industry. From researcher in a lab, to maintenance technician or process operator in a factory. Without (chemical) industry we do not have insulated houses, electrical cars or the latest smartphone. A crucial sector when it comes to our prosperity and well-being. ”
