To support companies that process or use plastics in their transition to a circular economy, the NRK is launching a series of learning modules on the processing of recycled and bio-based plastics. Thanks to support from the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, these modules are available to everyone.
The open-source learning track offers up-to-date knowledge, practical tools, and immediately applicable skills for the following job groups within companies:
- operators
- team leaders
- quality controllers
- buyers
- salespeople
- product engineers
The modules are designed to be accessible, so that both beginners and experienced professionals can expand their knowledge. Four Modules
The textbook consists of four modules:
- Material Knowledge: covering various types of circular plastics, their properties, and additives
- Equipment and Process: covering injection molding, extrusion, and separating residual materials
- Quality Assurance: covering material testing, output assessment, and interpreting test results
- Value Circles, Circular Design, and Environmental Impact: covering design for recycling, applications of circular plastics, and environmental impact
The first 2 modules are specifically aimed at operators and production staff. Module 3 is specifically aimed at buyers and quality staff. Module 4 describes the plastic value circle and is specifically aimed at sales representatives, designers/engineers, and management. Each module contains both general knowledge and specific information.
The learning content was developed by the NRK together with partners VAPRO, Mikrocentrum, Partners For Innovation, Polymer Science Park, Stodt, SORK, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. Get started
