European funding available for decarbonization innovations

Recently, the European Commission published a new round of the Innovation Fund, making additional financial support available for innovations that help reduce emissions. The committee is also making an additional €4.6 billion available for net-zero technologies through this fund.

The €4.6 billion is intended for the deployment of innovative decarbonization technologies, including the production of battery cells for electric vehicles and the production of sustainable hydrogen. This initiative, financed by the Innovation Fund, is intended to strengthen Europe’s competitive position and support climate goals. The financing includes €3.4 billion for decarbonization projects and €1.2 billion for sustainable hydrogen production through the European Hydrogen Bank. More information

New round of Innovation Fund
On December 3, the European Commission published a new call for the Innovation Fund. This fund supports projects that bring almost market-ready innovations to commercial use to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Both investment costs and operational costs are supported, with reimbursements up to 60% of the net project costs.

RVO is organizing an information meeting about the scheme on January 27. The plenary part of this meeting can be followed digitally. Before noon, you can request a cordial meeting with representatives of the European Commission to discuss your project and financing options. These conversations take place at the RVO office in The Hague. More information
