POLARIS unlocks knowledge of biobased plastics for businesses

The POLARIS project translates existing knowledge about biopolymers into actual applications in plastics processing. Within the project, NRK, Holland Bioplastics and Wageningen Food & Biobased Research organize meetings and lectures to update entrepreneurs with knowledge.

The project partners are also working on a freely accessible online application in which the material properties of a wide selection of biobased plastics can be compared in a clear manner. In this way, companies can independently and specifically select which biobased plastics would be suitable for their product, request targeted information from producers and thus make the transition to sustainable products more quickly.

During the next meeting, essential processing techniques will be demonstrated and researchers will discuss the (im)possibilities of bioplastics with entrepreneurs. More information about the meeting can be found here.

POLARIS receives financial support through the Knowledge on Demand program of the Top Sectors Agri & Food and Horticulture & Starting Materials.
