The use of hydrogen as a direct energy carrier offers concrete opportunities to make sectors more sustainable where electrification is not a viable alternative, such as industrial processes with high-temperature demand and heavy transport. This requires new solutions in technology, safety, and system integration, which are already being researched within GroenvermogenNL’s R&D program. With a supplementary call, NWO and GroenvermogenNL are taking the next step today in the development of applications for the direct use of hydrogen.
