NWO call: Development of integrated biorefineries with Brazil

NWO has published a new KIC call focusing on the development of integrated biorefineries as a key enabling technology for the transition to a circular and sustainable industry. This call encourages international and multidisciplinary research (Netherlands – São Paulo, Brazil) into the efficient and high-quality use of biomass as an alternative to fossil fuels. Technological, economic, social, and legal perspectives are explicitly considered. Matchmaking meetings will be organised on March 25 and April 16.

The call is intended for consortia of knowledge institutions, companies, and civil society organizations and offers funding opportunities for both medium-sized and large-scale research projects, with a focus on valorization and societal impact.

In this program, NWO is collaborating with the Brazilian research funder FAPESP to connect scientists, industry, agricultural companies, and civil society partners to jointly develop solutions to these problems.
