In 2024, ChemistryNL’s Human Capital Agenda continued to work on strengthening chemical education and promoting a well-educated workforce. Last year, the modernization of the pre-vocational secondary education examination program for chemistry, the implementation of student competitions at ROCs, and the introduction of a new qualification file for MBO laboratory technology were important milestones. In addition, studies were conducted into AI skills in chemistry and the European Chemskills project was joined.
For 2025, the HCA is committed to scaling up existing initiatives, strengthening national networks, and knowledge dissemination from PPP innovations. There will also be extra attention for talent development through programs such as COAST, BISC-E and the Chemistry Olympiad.
