€ 19.3 million for hydrogen and green electrons for special and fine chemicals

The GroenvermogentNL R&D program will open a call at the beginning of February for research into making the synthesis of special and fine chemicals more sustainable. €19.3 million is available for this R&D theme. This can make an important contribution to making the Dutch chemical industry more sustainable. There will be an information meeting on February 13 about the call for this theme.

Specialty and fine chemicals are an important part of the chemical, materials, agricultural and pharmaceutical industries. The current production processes of special and fine chemicals are based on fossil raw materials. In addition, they consume a lot of energy and produce a lot of waste. Making these processes more sustainable is therefore important on several levels. By using hydrogen and green electrons, synthesis routes can be made shorter and cleaner.

The new call is for GroenvermogenNL’s R&D theme Hydrogen and green electrons for special and fine chemicals. The call aims at creating new methods and processes for chemical synthesis. The aim is to make the chemical industry more sustainable while providing opportunities for market expansion with new and innovative products.

Information meeting on February 13
GroenvermogenNL and NWO are organizing an information meeting about the call on February 13. During this meeting, participants will receive all information about the call and participation in the R&D consortium. Register for the information meeting.
