Labor-saving technologies should be promoted better

In the current tight labor market, labor savings have become a key issue. Based on both Human Capital Agendas, ChemistryNL and the Top Sector Energy commissioned SEO Economic Research to map the opportunities and obstacles for the industry, both large and small, to implement labor-saving technology. Input from more than 100 employers has been compiled in the report “Labor-saving technology in practice.”

The report shows that many large companies, in particular, are using labor-saving technologies and see opportunities to expand them in the future. At the same time, there are obstacles. For example, there is a lack of knowledge and expertise in the practical application of technology, particularly in SMEs. The report identifies where labor-saving technology can be deployed and the skills required to work with these new technologies.

The main conclusion from SEO Economic Research’s research is that labor-saving technology should be a structural component of every company’s long-term strategy to ensure the availability of sufficient human capital. Establishing development pathways, offering a labor intensity scan, and establishing communities of practice can help overcome these obstacles.
