On Thursday 2 October 2025, the Applied Science Domain (DAS) will organise the first edition of the Applied Science R&D Congress in collaboration with the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences – a national congress for practice-oriented research within the applied natural sciences.
The DAS is a partnership of fifteen universities of applied sciences with ten different programmes and more than forty-eight research groups. These programmes train professionals who contribute directly to solving urgent social issues. Within the domain, there is intensive collaboration to align education and research with the rapidly changing needs of the professional field and society.
During this congress, practice-oriented research and the power of collaboration in innovations will be central. The focus is on key technologies and their role in current themes such as climate change, energy transition, future-proof healthcare, food security, circularity and safety.

• Safety & Security
