New STUDI grant supports gasification of residual streams

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) is introducing a new component for the gasification of residual streams within the renewed Studies for Sustainable Industry (STUDI) subsidy scheme. This allows entrepreneurs to apply for subsidies for studies into technologies that convert residual streams into renewable energy or circular raw materials.

The scheme supports, among other things, feasibility studies, environmental studies, and preparations for pilot and demonstration projects. A budget of €7.5 million is available in 2026 for the new ‘gasification of residual streams’ component. The overall STUDI scheme focuses on CO₂ reduction, hydrogen, green chemistry, and circular industrial innovations.

With this expansion, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy aims to stimulate innovations that contribute to a climate-neutral and circular industry. Applications can be submitted starting May 18, 2026.
