The government’s vision on biotechnology 2025-2040 was recently published. In this vision, the government expresses its ambition to make the Netherlands a leading country in the field of research, development and application of biotechnology. Biotechnology can make an important contribution to realising social goals in the areas of health, circular economy and food production. In addition, it is also an important technology for a strong, competitive and future-proof economy. The safe and responsible use of the opportunities offered by biotechnology is central to the government’s vision on biotechnology. In order to realise this ambition, the government will deploy its government instruments in the area of \u200b\u200binnovation and valorisation in a more targeted manner.<\/p>\n
